Coble, Ashlan Ramsey advance in Georgia Women's Match Play

BRASELTON, Ga. --- After a day full of matches at the Georgia Women's Match Play Championship, the quarterfinals are set at The Legends at Chateau Elan. Top-seed Sydney Needham of Villa Rica defeated Darby Gentry of Braselton, 7 and 6, in the round of 32, and Haley Austin of McDonough, 1 up, in the round of 16.

Needham advances to the semifinals, where she will take on nine-time Women's Match Play champion Laura Coble of Augusta. Coble made it to the semis with wins over Christina Yang of Suwanee (5 and 4) and Taylor Ramsey of Milledgeville (2 and 1). Coble, a Georgia Golf Hall of Famer, is looking for her 10th win at this event in the 16th year it has been played.

In the Tournament flight, Keagan Dunn of Buford will face Ellen Kinsey-Dempsey of St. Simons Island in the flight's first semifinal match. In the second semi, Leslie Elkins of Roswell will take on Hannah Solesbee of Winston.

The quarterfinals of the Championship Flight will begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m., with the semifinals scheduled to begin tomorrow afternoon. The semifinals of the Tournament Flight will get underway at 8:32 a.m.
