Augusta, Ga--In the next week and a half you're going to hear a lot about the Ravens Ray Lewis' last ever game. The Harbaugh brothers coaching against each other in the super bowl. But around here, plenty of talk about former Bulter standout Carlos Rogers who's getting his shot on the biggest stage.

Rogers is a standout defensive back that would have been in the pro bowl had it not been for the bigger game. In two years with San Francisco, his stock has rose immensley. One guy who remembers him, his former high school coach at Butler David Land. Rogers was an outstanding running back at Butler and really only played defense his junior and senior year. Land says its rogers parents that deserve all the credit.

"Was not one of those people that you hear about athletes in high school and college that might have been on the wrong side of the tracks or did something wrong, no" said his high school coach David Land "His mom and dad did an outstanding job of raising he and his brother and just a phonomenal person, which they laid the ground work for him."

Now in his eight year in the league, Rogers has become one of the best. One thing land has noticed, he hasn't changed much. He's not an over the top in your face guy. He goes out and does his job and does it well.

"what you saw with Carlos was he would go out and he did his job" added Land "He went out and led by example. He went and did his work and wanted other people to follow that type of montra, that type of hey, go to work and you give everything you got."

Rogers actually missed a handfull of games his senior season at Butler with an ankle injury. He still managed to rush for over a thousand yards. While Auburn won the recruiting battle with him, he was nearly a Georgia Bulldog, who were also recruiting him heavily.
