Butler faces toughest test in Washington County

Thursday October 6, 2011

Augusta, Ga--If there was ever a team out to prove the doubters wrong it may be the Bulter Bulldogs. For the second straight year Ashley Harden has the Dogs off to a 5 and 0 start. Last year, they still missed the playoffs. Tomorrow night in Sandersville, a win would be a huge step in avoiding that pitfall this time around.

A year ago, Washington County came to Butler and handed it to them pretty good. 12 months later the Dogs are in a different spot with more experience and a few more weapons. Sure Jeff Menefee leads the offense but Christan Garnett has proven to be a game changer as well. They're also more confident this time around.

"Well Monday afternoon DeLonzo Harris, who is one of our team captains, called a team meeting and talked to the team about the importance of this week and staying focused and practicing hard and everything and I think that carried over this week, as I said, it's been a great week." said coach Ashley Harden

"We're a thousand times more confident" said senior Christan Garnett "We've been through so much this year, just trying to do it all, just one step at a time, one team at a time, that's all we go by."

The Butler defense is a heck of a lot better to and will have to very wary of WaCo quarterback William Walker. Here's a guy capable of making big plays every single snap. By the way, Washington County is probably the best two loss team in the state.
