Jan., 17, 2014 AIKEN, SC-- Bull riding is returning to the James Brown Arena. The USC Aiken baseball team's annual fundraiser featuring the best eight seconds in sports.

Forty of the best bull riders along with the bulls will be on hand Saturday night for the Extra Inning Bull Riding competition.

Still going strong after 13 years, despite early doubts, the bull riding affair has become one of the most unique and successful events in the CSRA. A lot of that success stems from the hard work of Pacers baseball coach Kenny Thomas.

"I remember when I first started going around the community and asking for support, people used to say 'this is thoroughbred country, we play polo here,'" coach Thomas said.

"I used to tell people give me four or five years, it will be the biggest event in the CSRA. I don't think I have to tell people that anymore."

The event starts at 8 PM Saturday with proceeds going toward the Pacer baseball team and the Aiken Ambucks club.
