AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State head men’s golf coach Kevin McPherson announced Tuesday the addition of Maverick Antcliff to the squad. Antcliff will join the ASU men’s golf program for the Spring, 2012 semester.
Antcliff, from Beaudesert, Australia, was named to the All-Queensland first team in both 2009 and 2010. He finished in second place in the Greg Norman Junior Masters in 2010 with a score of 17-under par. He also placed third in the 2010 Australian Junior and sixth in the 2011 Keperra Bowl. Antcliff has three-and-a-half years of eligibility remaining.
“I’m pretty confident Maverick will have a chance to make an immediate impact on our program and on this year’s team,” McPherson said. “We’re looking forward to him helping this program advance to postseason play. It’s nice to get another Aussie on the team and continue that connection for years to come.”
ASU opens the Spring, 2012 schedule on Monday, Feb. 13 in the San Diego/TaylorMade Intercollegiate at San Diego Country Club in Chula Vista, Calif.
