AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State picked up three more spots Tuesday in the NABC Coaches poll, climbing to No. 12 in the fifth poll of the 2012-13 season.

The Jaguars, who were ranked 15th last week, are off to a 6-0 start following Monday’s 75-73 Peach Belt Conference victory over Montevallo. Sophomore forward Devon Wright-Nelson, a preseason All-Peach Belt Conference selection, registered his best effort of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds for his first double-double.

The appearance in the national rankings marked the 68th time the Jags have been ranked -- all under head coach Dip Metress -- among the country’s top 25 teams since the 2006-07 season.

From 2007-2011, ASU appeared in every national poll for four straight seasons. Overall, the Jags have cracked the top 20 65 times, the top 10 43 times and were ranked among the top five on 27 occasions.

ASU will play host to Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6:00 p.m., in downtown Augusta at James Brown Arena. The contest, billed as “Jam The JBA”, will mark the first time ASU has played in the venue (formerly the Augusta-Richmond County Civic Center) since Dec. 16, 1995, when the Jags defeated Paine College 80-64 in the City Classic.
