Statesboro, Ga--Georgia Southern could be in the market for a new football coach. Army has been given permission by the school to talk to Jeff Monken about their vacancy. Monken has been with the eagles for four years now leading them to a 38 and 16 record as they complete the transition to big time division one football.
Monken use to be an assistant at Navy with Paul Johnson before moving on to Georgia Tech and eventually Statesboro.
Army is looking to replace Rich Ellerson who was fired. The Eagle program needed to give permission seeing Monken is still under contract through the end of the calender year.
