Augusta, Ga--Last year was a record setting season for the Irish of Aquinas. A pair of playoff wins before bowing out. This year, they are expecting more. With class a now split into public and private schools, no reason to think they can't accomplish the goal.
Aquinas opens up the playoffs with a home game against George Walton tomorrow night. They played the Bulldogs and beat 'em in overtime early in the season. That was forever ago. Lately Matt LeZotte's team has been beat up some. The extra week off may have helped more then anything.
"Hopefully we'll be a 100% heading into the first round" said Matt LeZotte "it was tough those few weeks you know. We had six starters out on both sides of the ball and essentially we played a couple of games with our junior varisty out there."
Their most noteable injury has been Brendan Douglas' broken hand. He's played through it and is on the mend. Look for the Irish to be pretty healthy and more then hungry Friday night.
