Aiken volleyball state title hopes dashed in the semifinals

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Mount Pleasant, SC--The Aiken volleyball season saw their season come to an end in the state semifinals as they fall to Wando three sets to two.

The Warriors came out strong winning the first two sets only to see the Hornets rally to win games three and four. Then in the fifth set, Wando prevailed 15-9 to advance to the Class 4A state title game.

This was a rematch of last year's semifinals when Aiken knocked off Wando, but now the roles were reversed. The Hornets season ends with a 42 and 5 record as they are denied a third straight trip to the state finals.
