Aiken, SC--It's been a magic carpet ride for the ladies of Aiken. Now, two wins away from capturing a state title. Even a late season slip up hasn't derailed the hornets from chasing and maybe even reaching their dreams.

In the playoffs they've been nothing short of spectacular having dispatched a one seed in Summerville and then the second ranked team in the state West Ashley. They dominated West Ashley and were never even challenged. This is a senior dominated team that's playing together for four years and are on the cusp of reaching the ultimate goal

"It's every athlete's biggest dreams to get all the way" said Rebekah Muir "This has been our goal the whole season, we've talked about how we are state championship team. We have every ability to make it all the way and we can do it."

"We never talked about conference championship, we never talked about really tournament championships, the only thing they've been focused on is doing well in the state playoffs." said coach Aubrey Pompey "I think they way they're playing now, that's where their focus has been, getting ready for that."

Standing in their way, the best of the best, Dutch Fork. The Silver Foxes are riding a 38 game win streak. Aiken gave 'em a run last time out losing by just five. They did that without Monique Tyler who can be a difference maker against their star Alaina Coates

"I think we can really do it if we play like we've been doing, I think we can beat them if we play like we're suppose to play" said Monique Tyler

"Any piece of that puzzle that's missing, we can struggle, especially against a real good team like Dutch Fork" added Pompey "But having everyone in place, having her on the court, it gives us a better chance

Aiken's star guard Erin Gilmore is a question mark after an injury last time out. Coach Pompey thinks she'll be ready to go, but either way he knows this Hornet team will leave it all on the court tomorrow night in Florence.
