PUEBLO, Colo. – Junior Dustin Ross fell competed in the men’s 1500-meter race at the Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pueblo, Colo., falling short of the qualifying time in a field of 20 competitors.
Ross placed 19th with a time of 4:07.71, beating Humboldt State’s Jantzen Oshier. Senior Dawson Vorderbruegge from Cal St. Stanislaus won the event in 3:57.51 with Adams State duo Stephen Emery (3:57.59) and Matt Daniels (3:57.70) taking third and fourth.
Ross’s 1500 meter in heat one of the preliminaries, serves as the final athletic event to host an Augusta State student-athlete. The top-12 racers earned a berth to the 1500 meter finals on Saturday, May 25 at 5:45 p.m.
