AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State’s Jaiden Brandt was named the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week Monday afternoon, according to an announcement from the league’s headquarters in Martinez, Ga.

Brandt finished second in last Friday’s Jaguar Invitational with the fourth-fastest 8k time in the Peach Belt this season. The sophomore from North Augusta, S.C., ran the brutal Blanchard Woods course in Evans in 25:39, less than 10 seconds behind race winner Austin Boetje of Georgia State. Brandt's time was the fastest on the team this season and he becomes the seventh PBC runner to cover an 8k distance in under 26 minutes so far this year.

The Runner of the Week selection is the second for the Jaguars this year – Dustin Ross was named ROTW on Monday, Sept. 24
