Aiken, SC --- Thousands of people attended the Triple Crown of Polo tournament Saturday, and they weren't all locals. Some traveled a long way just to see the final game.

"I think it's really special because lots of people get to come from all over the world and see this big tournament and meet horses," Malia Bryan said.

Thousands of people came from all over the world just to get a glimpse of the Triple Crown of Polo tournament. Some people even moved to Aiken just for the horses.

"The horses are beautiful. The riders are great. Everybody should come to a polo event," Cassandra Gleason said.

Kris Bowman is from Vero Beach, Florida and works for the Polo Training Foundation and teaches people how to play her favorite sport.

"Aiken is just becoming such a polo community. We didn't want to miss this opportunity to do some clinics in Aiken," Bowman said.

Miguel Astrada traveled from Argentina to attend the tournament.

"This is my second time in Aiken. I like it very much. It's a great place for polo," Astrada said.

One person we talked to drove 12 hours from Indianapolis, Indiana.

"It truly is the horse capital of the world. All disciplines, all interest of horses are here and its nice that they support all those disciplines," Susan McIlwain said.

Roseann Jordan traveled from Charleston, South Carolina to see her first polo tournament.

"I came to visit family and to learn about polo. I've never seen it before and I think it's a wonderful sport," Jordan said.

"Love Aiken. I played here in the late 60s and with the polo greats," Fred Fortugno said.

Overall, one thing is for sure among the crowd.

"It's fun. It's exciting. The weather is beautiful. The play was tremendous. It was a close game and I don't know how you could want anything more than this," Brenda Lynn said.
