AUGUSTA, Ga.---If you found it a little harder to get around downtown Augusta this afternoon and evening, there's a good reason.
We weren't a stop for the Tour de Georgia this year, but this weekend it's the Georgia Cup, featuring some top-notch riders who took over downtown.
It's all part of a number of events throughout the state, and for many of these guys, it's three races in two days. They had time trials earlier this morning, then this evening there was a 60 lap curriculum covering just three quarters a mile a lap. And folks, these guys fly, covering the distances in under two minutes!
Following today's event, the Georgia Cup will shift to Fort Gordon for a grueling final 24K trek up and down the hills.
