COLUMBIA, S.C.---It's not often you get a do-over, but former Blackville-Hilda star Brandon Isaac will get a second chance in 2007.
After redshirting last season due to injury and academic problems, Isaac is expected to start at safety for the South Carolina Gamecocks. The senior last played in 2005 when he split time between corner and safety and was hampered by a shoulder injury. Isaac underwent surgery on that shoulder last august and had to watch the '06 season from the sidelines.
Isaac says, "Last year, I just sat out there. I came to every home game and I felt their pain. Now I get the opportunity to be out there with them. It means a lot that they want me out there."
Isaac, considered a frontrunner for the free safety spot, may also play some cornerback for the Gamecocks this season.
