AUGUSTA, Ga---On another hot day at the Augusta Country Club, Laura Coble shot a cool 71 en route to her 5th Georgia Women's AMateur Championship title. Coble, the reigning 9-time Georgia State Golf Association player of the year, entered the final round with a 2 stroke lead and pulled away to win by 4 shots over defending champ, Jean Reynolds. Coble, the Augusta State women's golf coach, posted a 3 day total of 212 to finish at 4 under.

"It's very, very special, this week at home in front of friends and family, my homeclub. It's just really neat to host such a great event at my home club after growing up here," Coble said after her final round. "It's just been a wonderful week for me."
