AUGUSTA---It took only a round and a half for Augusta native Ray Whitfield to give the hometown fans what they were looking for, a knockout. Whitfield stopped Jair Jimenez halfway through the 2nd round at the Bell Auditorium to run his prfessional flyweight record to 18-0. Whifield dominated the nationally televised fight from start to the very quick finish, taking out an opponent who has now lost by knockout in his last 4 fights.
"I was hitting him with anything I wanted to hit him with," Whitfield said after the fight. "The clean jab was working. I started touching him with the straight right hand. Everything fell into place from there."
