Big-time boxing is once again coming to Augusta thanks to native son, Rayonta Whitfield. The fighter's camp announcing tonight that the NABO flyweight champion will once again be fighting on ESPN in Augusta on August 1st.
Whitfield, who defeated Everisto Primero last April at the Jjames Brown Arena, will now face Colombian flyweight Jair Jimenez on ESPN's Wednesday night fights live from the Bell Auditorium. Whifield's record now stands at 17-0 with 8 knockouts.
The undercard for the fight features 4 other bouts and tickets go on sale next Tuesday, July 17th at the James Brown Arena box office. That's also the day a big press conference has been called to talk about the fight.
