Synder's 10th win paces Greenjackets

Augusta, GA – The GreenJackets (50-20, 7-4) won their second straight over the Lexington Legends (31-39, 3-8) with a 7-1 win on Sunday. Starter Ben Snyder won his sixth straight start and Mike McBryde drove in two runs in the win. For the second consecutive night Augusta plated four runs in a game with two outs.

Snyder (10-2) had a no-hitter threw five innings before allowing a lead off double in the sixth inning for the win. The lefty worked 6.2 innings and allowed one run on three hits, walked two and struck out three.

Augusta took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Brett Pill connected for a two-out RBI single scoring Bobby Felmy. Felmy doubled with two outs in the frame to set up Pill for his team leading 51st RBI of the season.

The GreenJackets added three more runs in the third inning to take a 4-0 lead. In his first plate appearance for Augusta, catcher John Ray connected for a solo home run down the left-field line. It was Ray’s first professional hit and home run. Ray finished the night 2-for-4.
