COLUMBUS, Ga. – Marvin Stone’s fifth touchdown of the night, a 3-yard pass from Mike Rathe with 18.9 seconds remaining, lifted the Augusta Spartans to a 63-60 victory over the Columbus Lions in the inaugural World Indoor Bowl before 3,529 at the Columbus Civic Center Saturday.
The Spartans (10-6) beat the Lions (10-5) in Columbus for the first time in three tries this season.
