ATLANTA (AP) -- The voice of the Georgia Bulldogs says he likely
will call only home games this year because of declining health.
The 84-year-old Munson had said earlier in the week that he
wants to return for his 41st consecutive season of Georgia football
but wasn't sure his body would allow him to do it. He met with
athletic director Damon Evans on Tuesday to discuss contingency
plans.
Munson said during an interview at his home in Athens yesterday
that he likely will NOT travel with the teams to away games this
fall. Instead, he says he will call only home games at Sanford
Stadium.
He says Georgia officials have been discussing splitting the
package for radio play-by-play between Scott Howard and him.
