Greenjackets close in on first half title

Augusta, GA-- The Augusta Greenjackets defeated Savannah 3-1 at Lake Olmstead Stadium to take a step closer to winning the first half title in the South Atlantic League's Southern Division.

Kevin Pucestas pitched six strong innings in winning his seventh game of the year. Pucestas surrendered a single run on six hits as the All-Star is now 7 and 1 on the year.

Bobby Felmy and Emmanuel Burriss continued their torid streaks at the plate. Felmy homered while Burriss went 2 for 4 upping his average to .392 on the year.

The Greenjackets will take on the Sand Gnats again Saturday night.
