Asheville, NC -- The Augusta Greenjackets won their sixth straight and second over the Asheville Tourists Sunday 5-2 in 10 innings. David Newton recorded the win in relief as Augusta plated three runs in the top of the 10th inning.
James Simmons broke the tie with his third homer of the year, a one out solo shot, giving Augusta a 3-2 lead. Bobby Felmy and Mike McBryde added RBI doulbes in the inning.
With the victory the Greenjackets extend their lead over the Tourists to 3 and a half games in the South Atlantic League's south division.
