Vince Dooley recovering after throat surgery

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Legendary University of Georgia coach Vince
Dooley is recovering from surgery to remove a tumor near his vocal
cords.
His wife, Barbara, says Dooley is "doing great." But she says
his friend should NOT call him because he can't say a word for ten
days.
Dooley was resting comfortably at his home in Athens last night.
Barbara Dooley says her husband -- who turns 75 in September --
had been experiencing hoarseness in his voice for several months.
She says an examination revealed he tumor near his vocal cords.
Dooley was at UGA a total of 41 years as head football coach
and athletic director, and retired on June 30, 2004. He was
inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
