AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State earned a postseason bid Monday afternoon to the 2007 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships when the Jags were made an at-large selection by the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee in Indianapolis, Ind.
The selection marks the 12th time in the last 15 years the Jaguars have been tabbed to participate in the postseason, and the ninth NCAA regional bid in the last 10 years for the men’s golf program.
ASU will play in the NCAA West Regional, hosted by Arizona State University at ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. The Jaguars will be the No. 14 seed in the three-day, 54-hole regional, which begins Thursday, May 17 and runs through Saturday, May 19. A practice round is slated for Wednesday, May 16.
The ASU Karsten Golf Course, a par-72, 7,057-yard layout, is a Pete-Dye, links-style course that opened in September, 1989.
