It's the best of the best with the top barrel racers in the world in Augusta this week. The world championships on going at the James Brown Arena
Pretty much every state in the country is represented as it's all about speed and precision. A trip around three barrel in the fastest time possible wins a whole lot of money. Not only most states, but several different countries including Australia. Not a short trip to Augusta and it's not cheap either. Matter of fact, instead of spending thousands upon thousands of dollars bringing their own horse, they end up riding for someone else. Not easy considering for many, it's the first time the rider and horse have gotten together.
"Really just getting your timing right because different horses you know, you want to set up at different times and you don't really know how far you can push them or how fast you can go. That's definitely a challenging experience." said Suzanne Brooks from Australia
Brooks is one of three coming from the land down under. The championships are on going through Saturday with the finals that night.
