Clemson 89, Mississippi 68

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Freshman Trevor Booker had a career-high 21 points as Clemson beat Mississippi 89-to-68 Monday night in the second round of the NIT.

The Number One seed Tigers advance to Wednesday's quarterfinals. They will host second-seeded Syracuse.

The Rebels end their season at 21-and-13.

Cliff Hammonds scored all 18 of his points in the first half as Clemson finished on a 12-to-1 run to lead by eleven at the break.

Booker had 15 of his points in the second half when the Tigers extended their lead to as many as 19 points.

The Tigers held Ole Miss' high-scoring backcourt of Clarence Sanders and Bam Doyne to a combined 18 points, 13 fewer than their averages.
