CHASKA, Minn. (AP) -- Tiger Woods posted a bogey-free 5-under 67 early in the day and it stood up for the lead after the first round of the PGA Championship. Woods was on his game, hitting 12 of 14 fairways on the way to his first sub-70 round in a major since the 2007 British Open.
Golf's top player held a one-shot lead over defending PGA Championship winner and playing partner Padraig Harrington. Woods is trying to win the final major of the year after being shutout in the first three.
Two-time champ Vijay Singh heads up a group of six golfers who trail Woods by two shots. Phil Mickelson struggled to a 74.
