ASU golf coach qualifies for US Amateur

Woodstock, Ga--Augusta State golf coach Josh Gregory has qualified for the upcoming US Amateur golf tournament thanks to a second place finish at the qualifying tournament in Woodstock, Georgia.

Gregory led after a first round 64 and followed that up with a second round 70 on Wednesday. His score of 134 was one off the medalist and was a tie for second.

Gregory's effort puts him in the 109th US Amateur which will be held in late Augusta in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

It was just a week and a half ago when Gregory competed in the Public Links Championships.
