AIKEN, S.C. – The 2009-10 University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball schedule was released on Tuesday, July 21 by fifth-year head men’s basketball coach Vince Alexander.
The 2009-10 USC Aiken men’s basketball schedule will feature a full Peach Belt Conference schedule along with 14 home games at the Convocation Center. The Pacers will take on five teams in the 2009-10 campaign that were a part of the 2009 NCAA Division II Tournament.
The healthy home schedule for the Pacers in the 2009-10 season does not bode well for opposition visiting the Convocation Center where the Pacers are currently 27-1 during the regular season over the past two seasons.
USC Aiken is 19-1 against PBC opposition during the regular season inside the Convocation Center since it opened its doors prior to the start of the 2007-08 season.
“I think that we definitely have another challenging schedule ahead of us,” noted Alexander. “I believe that our non-conference schedule will prepare us for another tough Peach Belt Conference season. We are looking forward to competing as we try to acquire another PBC championship while at the same time remaining one of the premier programs in all of Division II basketball.”
Under the guidance of Alexander the University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball program has become a national force over the past couple of campaigns. The Pacers have won a school-record 52 contests over the last two seasons. They have also acquired a Peach Belt Conference regular season championship (2007-08) and advanced farther than any other team in school history to the NCAA Division II Tournament “Sweet Sixteen” (2008-09).
