Thursday July 16, 2009

NORMAN, OK--Augusta State golf coach Josh Gregory has been eliminated from the Public Links championship. ASU junior to be Mitch Krywulycz advanced through the round of 32 and is on course in the round of 16.

Gregory lost to Sam Lyons of Myrtle Beach, SC 3 and 2. Gregory fell behind early and trailed by three holes just seven holes into his match.

Meanwhile Mitch Krywulycz needed 20 holes to advance into the quarterfinals as he defeated Julian Suri of Florida. Krywulycz birdied the 20th hole after rebounding from an early deficit.

But in his second match, Krywulycz fell to Brandon Crick 4 and 3. The match was all squared through six holes before he struggled as Crick pulled away for the win.
