Day 3 of the Nike Peach Jam today and just about every big-name college coach is on hand, hoping to find recruits that fill a need on their team. That includes South Carolina head coach Darrin Horn.
Horn is just beginning his second year on the job and so far, it's been good. Next year could be even better though, thanks to the return of Devan Downey and former Josey star Dominique Archie. You see, both players initially put their name into the NBA draft but later, decided to come back for their senior seasons. That makes recruiting a bit easier for Horn, who now doesn't need to worry about filling the holes those two would have left, at least not for one more year.
"It's great to have both of those guys back," said Horn. "Obviously, they're really important to our program and we spend a lot of time in the summer recruiting but the best recruits you have are keeping the good ones that you have."
"Not only are they two terrific players but they are fifth year seniors and terrific young men too so we're really pleased to have them back."
Thanks to both players coming back, South Carolina only loses two players from last year's team that won 21 games.
