When football players reach the NFL, not only do they get big paychecks but sometimes also big egos. But at Patriots Park on Saturday, you couldn't find any of those among the NFL players from the CSRA.

A group of them came together for the Danny Verdun Wheeler football camp at the park. They took the kids through various football drills, fed them, and at the end, hooked them up with autographs.

Among the players there were former Gamecocks Casper and Jasper Brinkley and former Bulldogs Corvey Irvin and Jarius Wynn along with Wheeler. For all of them, training camp begins in about a month so this is their de facto vacation. But there guys understand the importance of taking time out of their busy lives to give back to the community that has given them so much.

"That's just what I love to do anyways," said Wynn. "I like to give back to the kids and support everyone."

"That's one of the main things I was taught when I was growing up," said Wheeler. "Always try to give back to the people that helped you and the people that didn't get to help you. So our goal is just to help as many kids and as many people as we can so that they can eb just as successful or even more successful than we were."

About 75 kids took part in today's camp. And about 50 more kids were on had for a camp held yesterday in Thomson.
