Augusta, GA – With his team trailing by a run in the sixth, Johnny Monell smoked a two-run double to left-center to give the Augusta GreenJackets the lead for good in an eventual 7-2 win over the Lexington Legends.

The Jackets scored four in the frame on five hits, with back-to-back singles by Ehire Adrianza and Wendell Fairley setting the table for Monell’s go-ahead two-bagger. Vladimir Frias followed with a triple to score Monell. Frias crossed the plate on Dom Duggan’s two-out bunt single to the left side of the infield, part of a three RBI day for the Augusta centerfielder.

Augusta led early, with Andy D’Alessio scoring from third on a wild pitch by Lexington starter Ross Seaton with two outs in the second inning. D’Alessio doubled to open the stanza and advanced to third on a fly out to right.

The Legends took their first and only lead on Eric Suttle two-out, two-run single in the fifth off Eric Stolp, making his third start of the year. Stolp (3-1) got his first win as a starter in his longest outing of the season – six innings. He yielded two runs on six hits with a pair of walks and two strikeouts.

Stolp’s counterpart Seaton (6-7) left the ballgame with the lead but ends up as the loser because Henry Villar allowed runners inherited from Seaton to cross the plate. Seaton threw 5.1 innings for Lexington, allowing three runs on six hits with two walks, striking out five.

Dom Duggan doubled home two more insurance runs, drilling a 1-2 offering from Arcenio Leon off the left field wall for his second hit of the night in the eighth inning.
