Siler prepares for the NBA draft, impresses teams

Tuesday June 23, 2009

AUGUSTA, GA--Just two days remain before the NBA draft and the butterflies are starting to set in a bit for former Augusta State big man Garret Siler. Will he or won't he, that is the question about whether or not a team will pick the seven footer.

Siler has definitely turned a few heads since he wrapped up his college career with the Jags. Been kind of a whirl wind tour for Siler who's made plenty of stops at NBA teams to show them what he's capable of doing. He's dropped some more weight, is stronger then ever and in the best shape of his life. His agent says teams are really taking notice

"That I'm impressing teams" said Garret Siler "I've gone hard, I've played well against a lot of bigger names that are top, first round picks in the draft and I've held my own or even done better then them. Being able to do that, coming from where I'm at, I'm turning a lot of heads."

With this being a weak draft for big men, Siler could easily be picked, most likely in the second round. Atlanta, Miami and Dallas have expressed serious interest. The Heat are so interested that Siler is in Miami today for another workout. We'll keep ya posted as draft day nears.
