AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State women’s basketball head coach Tes Sobomehin announced Wednesday the addition of Theresa Alexander to the Lady Jaguar recruiting class.

A 5-10 forward from Pompano Beach, Fla., Alexander spent her freshman season at the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Alexander averaged 10 points and eight rebounds as a senior at South Broward High School in 2007-08. She was part of a Lady Bulldogs’ squad that captured the Class AAAAAA state championship. She earned four letters in basketball and two in track.

“We’re really excited to be adding Theresa to our nucleus,” Sobomehin said. “She is a tremendous athlete and a fine student. She comes from a tradition-rich high school program. She has a year of collegiate experience, but she still has the majority of her career in front of her. She will compete at the small forward and develop at the wing in this coming year.”

The Lady Jags return four starters and seven letterwinners from the 2008-09 squad, including all-conference performer Jasmine Godwin.
