Seattle Mariners take Rich Poythress in second round

UNDATED--Grovetown's Rich Poythress has been selected by the Seattle Mariners in the second round of the major league baseball draft.

Poythress who helped lead Greenbrier to a state title and Georgia to the College World Series last year was selected 51st overall.

This past year for the Bulldogs, Poythress hit 376 with 25 homers and 86 runs batted in.

    Had the pleasure of watching Rich play for Greenbrier HS. Hope he makes it to the Majors.
