After 4 years at the helm of Thomson's baseball team, Terry Holder has resigned. Holder informed the school before the season ended.

Holder directed the Bulldogs to their first region title in 40 years. In the Cllass-AAA playoffs, Thomson won in the first round before falling in 3 games to Northside in the second round.

Holder came to Thomson after a distinguished career in Columbia County, coaching at Evans and Greenbrier. He spent 28 years coaching in the county, winning 8 state titles in his last 12 years.

Holder was named Georgia state coach of the year six times and national coach of the year twice. He also became the first baseball coach in Georgia history to amass more than 500 career wins.

The school hopes to name a replacement next week.
