Pacers climb one spot on the links

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Fifth-ranked USC Aiken moved up one spot after the second round of the South/Southeast Regional at the par 72, 7,126-yard Robert Trent Jones of the Shoals Fighting Joe Course into 12th place.

The Pacers, who were in 13th after the first round, shot an opening round team score of nine-over-par 297. USC Aiken followed that up with a team score of 300 in the second round to finish the first two days of the regional with a total team tally of 597.

Roberto Diaz (Veracruz, Mexico) led the Pacers in the second round with his second straight 74. Diaz is currently in 35th place individually with a two-day score of 148.

Diaz finished his first nine holes with two birdies and a two-under-par 34, but a 40 on his second nine left him with the 74. Diaz in total birdied four holes on Tuesday.

Kevin Grady (Woodbine, Md.) is currently five places ahead of Diaz in a tie for 30th. Grady has a two-round tally of 147 (72-75).
