McCormick, SC (May 2, 2009)… Matthew Harmon (Grand Rapids, MI) and Blaine Peffley (Lebanon, PA) share the lead at the Savannah Lakes Village Classic over the 7032 yard, par 72, Monticello Golf Club after posting three round totals of thirteen under par 203. The pair fired dueling rounds of five under par 67 in their third efforts, combining for 15 birdies between the two.
Harmon and Peffley will start Sundays final round one stroke in front of Russell Knox (Jacksonville Beach, FL), Andrew Dresser (Carrollton, TX), Ramon Bescansa (Santiago, Spain) and Matthew Rosenfeld (Plano, TX), each finishing at twelve under par 204 totals through three rounds.
Jason Dillard (Cullman, AL), Michael Welch (Quincy, MA) and David Skinns (Atlanta, GA) will start the final round three strokes back of the pair after finishing with ten under par 206 totals for three rounds. Dillard used his round of five under par 67 to bolt up the leaderboard from a tie for 20th to a tie for 7th while Welch and Skinns fired matching rounds of 68 taking each from a tie for 14th to their current tie for 7th.
A group of four golfers finished with a three day totals of nine under par 207, four strokes back of leaders. This group includes Matthew Anderson (Edina, MN), Keegan Bradley (Huntington Station, NY), Phillip Pettitt Jr. (Murfreesboro, TN) and Mark Wuersching (Queensland, Australia), who’s round of 68 propelled him from a tie for 20th to a tie for 10th.
The final round will begin at 7:30 am Sunday morning with the leaders teeing off at 8:50.
The total purse for The Savannah Lakes Village Classic is $200,000 with $33,566 going to the winner.
