Aquinas hard work paying off in soccer playoffs

Tuesday April 28, 2009

AUGUSTA, GA--To nobody's surprise, Aquinas is back in business and in the mix in the state soccer playoffs. The Fighting Irish, always seem to find their way into the playoffs and ready to make a run.

This year's Fighting Irish have just one loss against them, that coming at the hands of Greenbrier to close out the regular season. Other then that, they've run rough shot over pretty much every team in the region. Coach Kevin Trammell admits its not the strongest of regions, but he's happy of how his team is playing. It's also the post season which means time to crank it up another notch.

"We've definetly stepped it up in the past couple of weeks and we're working hard and we're certainly capable of going out there and getting the job done" said senior Josh Allen "I know we can go to the next level and keep moving on. We're pretty confident if we play our best, we can get it done."

"At practices, they're going 110%, they're fighting for everything, they're really working hard trying to prepare themselves for the game" said coach Kevin Trammell "I continuously harp on push yourself, push yourself, I shouldn't have to yell at you. Just the motivating factor is hey, we're in the playoffs, let's take care of business."

A tall task for the Irish tomorrow as they hit the road to the Marietta area and will take on top ranked Walker. but as coach Trammell says, don't count out his boys just yet
