AUGUSTA, GA--Former North Augusta standout and Georgia Bulldog CJ Byrd has signed a free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Byrd was hoping to be a late round draft pick, but when that didn't happen, he and his agent have been working the phones trying to find a home. That home is with the Buccaneers.
The former Bulldog free safety started 26 career games with Georgia as a free safety and had 49 tackles this past season as he started every game.
