When Greenbrier High School moved all their sports up to Class AAAAA, the belief would be that many of their sports teams would struggle with the change. While that may be the case for some of the teams, it hasn't been the case for the soccer teams.
The guys team is undefeated. A perfect 15-0 in the regular season and a fifth straight region championship. All that doesn;t mean much now though because starting Wednesday comes the playoffs, where everyone is 0-0. Last year, the Wolfpack made it all the way to the final eight. This year, they want a state title and nothing else.
"Oh yeah, it's been like that every year I've been here," said goalkeeper Brandon Sanders. "We always come close and we definitely want to get there. We're doing everything we can to prepare out here. Even when we are sitting in school, it's all we think about."
"It's all about if we can't win this game, we can't win the next game," said goalkeeper Devin Lemaire. "We're just building on top of each other. We've got this momentum and now we're hoping it transfers into the playoffs."
The boys will host Coffee on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the Lady Wolfpack will also be hosting a first round playoff game. They will play Tuesday night against Colquitt County.
