The Sand Gnats scored in all but two innings Saturday night en route to an 18-3 drubbing of the Augusta GreenJackets in front of a Fireworks Night crowd of 4,460.

Josh Satin paced the way for Savannah, going 4-4 at the plate with 2 RBI's. Jordany Valdespin, Wilmer Flores, Sean Ratliff, Rafael Fernandez and Juan Lagares each had multi-hit games for the 'Gnats, who pounded 19 hits against Augusta pitching. Raul Reyes added 3 RBI's and Jean Luc Blaquiere drilled a two-run, ninth inning home run as well for the Sand Gnats.

Savannah starter Robert Carson threw 5.2 innings of no-hit ball, finally yielding a single in the sixth to Ben Woodbury. Carson (1-1) recovered from Sunday's rough outing against the GreenJackets to fire six scoreless innings of one-hit ball with a walk and three strikeouts.

Kelvin Marte (0-1) was tagged with the loss for Augusta. Marte struggled to find a groove, firing three-plus innings and allowing eight runs, of which four were earned, on nine hits and two walks with a strikeout.

The GreenJackets broke into the runs column of the scoreboard in the eighth inning on Wendell Fairley's triple to dead centerfield, scoring a pair. CJ Ziegler followed with a sacrifice fly to score Fairley as part of the three-run eighth.
