INDIANOPOLIS – USC Aiken softball moves up a spot to No. 2 in the Southeast Region as the NCAA Division II Softball Committee announced today.
The Pacers are 26-11 this season and are 8-6 in the Peach Belt Conference. In their last ten games, USC Aiken has gone 7-3, while posting a 4-3 mark against ranked opponents this season.
USCA split a series with the top regional team, North Georgia, earlier this season. The Pacers snapped the Saints’ 15-game win streak as USC Aiken shut them out 4-0 on March 17.
The Pacers also split a series with Peach Belt foe Georgia College (No. 4) this season, giving the Bobcats their first conference loss.
Both the Saints and Bobcats are ahead of USC Aiken in the league rankings as North Georgia leads the way with a 7-1 record and Georgia College is 11-3 and in sitting second place.
The Pacers have swept the regionally ranked No. 6 Augusta State, No. 8 Francis Marion and No. 9 Catawba at home this season. The Pacers allowed only eight runs in the six games against the three teams. ASU moved up in the rankings this week two-spots as the Indians stayed the same and the Patriots fall two spots.
