ASU fans show Jaguar Pride at Monday Celebration

It was just 3 years ago when Augusta State's basketball team had just 15 wins and were playing in front of more blue seats than fans in Christenberry Fieldhouse. But my, how things have changed in just 3 seasons.

Today, the Jaguars were treated to an outdoor celebration on the ASU campus, and for good reason. Remember, this is a team that won a school record 30 games and made it to the Final Four for the second year in a row. Of course, the team came up just two wins shy of a national title this season, but if you ask the players, having such a loyal fan base helps ease the pain.

"They're committed to us," said junior Daniel Dixon. "They're committed to us being successful, not only on the court, but off the court. And all I can say is thank you."

"The fan support is absolutely unreal," said junior Greg Hire. "Just looking at the fan support from the other teams in Springfield, we definitely have the best fan base in the nation."

Of course, the Jags are losing seniors Garret Sielr, Steve Smith and Jason Killeen but they do return 4 seniors, who hope to keep the Elite Eight streak alive.
