Augusta, GA- As the GreenJackets roster starts taking shape in Arizona, we are reminded that Opening Day in Augusta is only days away. Now the GreenJackets have another reason to be at Lake Olmstead Stadium on April 16th with the special public appearance from Baseball Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken, Jr.

This special Opening Day visit is one of three possible visits to Augusta in 2009. The other dates have yet to be determined but most likely will be in June and August. Also, planned for Opening Day is a national anthem performance from the Ft. Gordon Band and Color Guard, a military flyover, and pre-game concert from local classic-rock cover band, Electric VooDoo. In addition, the GreenJackets will raise the championship banner and make a presentation to the City of Augusta.

As a reminder first pitch on Opening Night will be at 7:35 pm and the gates open at 6:00 pm. All fans in attendance will receive a 2009 team magnet schedule compliments of Doctors Hospital, NBC Augusta, and the Augusta Chronicle.

GreenJackets individual seat sales for the 2009 season are now on sale at the Stadium Box Office. While Box and Reserved seating are sold out for Opening Night on April 16, General Admission seats are still available. Single game seats for the 2009 season start at $7 for General Admission seats. Reserved seats are $8 and Box seats are $11.
