GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Talk about a quick trigger. South Carolina Force head football coach Bubba Diggs has been fired after only one game. He lost his job this week after the minor-league team lost its inaugural game 38-19 to Fayetteville last Saturday.
The team is in its first season in the American Indoor Football Association.
Diggs was a tight end on Clemson's 1981 national championship team. He came to the Force after three seasons leading the league's Augusta franchise.
Force general manager Tony Wells told The Greenville News the team didn't appear to be moving in the right direction under Diggs. Wells has taken over the team's coach.
