AUGUSTA, Ga. - Augusta State's tandem of Garret Siler and Ben Madgen and USC-Aiken senior Chris Commons were all named All-American Tuesday.
For ASU, the duo becomes the fourth and fifth All-America selections for the Jaguar men's basketball program over the last three seasons.
Augusta State was the only program in the nation and first in the Peach Belt Conference to have two player garner All-America honors in the same season.
Siler joins former ASU All-American AJ Bowman as the only players in school history to earn first-team, All-America honors by the NABC. On the season, he's averaging 16.4 points and 7.8 rebounds and was tabbed the NCAA Southeast Regional's Most Outstanding Player.
Madgen was named to the Daktronics third-team All-American squad. He was named to the Southeast Regional All-Tournament team and was also voted Peach Belt Conference Torunament's Most Valuable Player.
For Commons, this is his second straight selection to the All-American team. He was selected to both the State Farm/NABC and Daktronics All-American squad. Commons earned 1st team honors on the NABC squad and 3rd team honors on the Daktronics squad.
The senior from Westerville, Ohio won the Peach Belt player of the year the past two seasons and helped lead the Pacers to the regional finals this season, garnering All-Tournament Team honors in the process. Commons will represent the Pacers in Friday's Division II basketball All-Star Game in Springfield, Massachusetts.
