Thursday March 12, 2009

MACON, GA--Laney's quest for a state title came to an end at the hands of Buford 68-42 in the state semifinals in Macon.

The Wolves, ranked first in the state and riding a 29 game win streak jumped out to a 12 point lead after one and were never challenged by the Wildcats.

Buford would extend the lead to 19 at the half as Laney didn't have an answer to the tough Wolves offense which scored at will at times and led 57-34 after three quarters.

The final margin was 68-42 as the Wildcats end the season and see their own 21 game win streak come to an end.
